Christmas Eve

So for the past two years we have started a new tradition to Christmas Eve...skiing.  Christmas Eve always included church and listening to the story of baby Jesus in Luke 2 but now we added the element of skiing and there is nothing like seeing God's handiwork to get your heart ready for Christmas.

It was a gorgeous day!  The conditions were PERFECT meaning clear skies, sun, freshly groomed powder, and all family members present.  This is our usual set up gearing up for the big ride.
 The guys
Jared, Joe, Papa

It was so gorgeous I wanted a picture with Jared.
It was quite the tedious task to get ready for our photo op.

Isn't it gorgeous?  God's creation is amazing!

Then I got a little feisty so Jared tried pushing me over, naughty Jared!
Later on, he got what he deserved:).
Losing a ski is one of the reasons we love skiing with Jared.  He always adds an element of surprise to our ski trips.
The view from the top of B29.  I guess in 1946 a B29 plane crashed at the top of Mt. Spokane.  Since then, they named this run the B29.  Isn't the view spectacular?

 Here we go!

Ending the day with a typical Jared pose

After a long day of skiing, we end it with some warm food.  Hudson sure missed his Uncle Joe!

After our heavenly day of skiing and dinner, we headed to church for our Christmas Eve service at Foothills.  This service always puts my heart in the right place (even though I missed most of it due to a busy toddler boy:).

Snow Fun!!!

After the traumatic snow suit experience, we went shopping for Uncle Joe the next day and I found some snow pants and a coat on a SUPER sale.  I was willing to try anything besides the snow suit!  The next day we put him in his new outfit and headed to sled some more.  Hudson was excited to go sledding!  He kept saying "sled, sled."
This time daddy was there to join in on the fun.

Look mom, no hands!

We took a family trip to get the mail.

Then daddy thought it would be fun to run and pull Hudson!

Now it was time to see if he could walk in his new outfit....
He can walk and quite well!

Going where no man has gone before...ok except daddy!

Fun!  He liked being able to walk in the snow!!!

His boots did compact with quite a bit of snow so daddy had to come and help.

Sled please!

Running, running!

Needless to say, Hudson loved it all!
