Valentine's Celebrations

I LOVE Valentine's Day.  I'm that sucker that loves the flowers every year.  I now have a new obsession on this holiday, shirts for my little man. I admit, I got a bit carried away with Valentine's shirts this year but they are so fun!
 1.  Heart Breaker PJs
 2.  My Heart Races For Mommy PJs
 3.  The Ladies Love Me
 4.  I Get My Good Looks From Dad
 5.  Heart Breaker
 6.  Mom
 7.  Chick Magnet

8. First School Party
That's right Huddy had a Valentine's Day party at school so I made all the kids valentine holders out of white lunch sacks.  I used puffy paint and wrote their names on them and then gave the teachers hearts, dogs, monkeys to decorate them with.  I also ordered the PB basket with our last name embroidered on it for my classroom parties and future parties that involve us Haaks:).  Huddys Valentine's holder was a car mailbox on the far right, so fun!  We got him a dog that sings "Who Let the Dogs Out" and it moves.  He thinks its so funny!

In one of my Netflix obsessions this year we have been watching Jon & Katie Plus 8.  I find it so intriguing watching it because I can't imagine twins, let alone sextuplets!  It was fun watching the "kids" as Hudson calls them when they are his age.  Well Kate did a special Valentine's episode and a few thing I learned to do were:  make heart shape pancakes, sandwiches, cookies, you name it; she also got them chair backers with embroidered names for their Valentine's goodies; place mats; and of course flowers:).

Huddy's light saber and chair backer.  Jared thought it was too girly but I thought it was adorable:)  I still need to get a nice dinosaur or "manly" iron on patch.  But the light saber works, right?!
 Place mats and flowers
 Kitchen towels

This Valentine's Day was fabulous and we were blessed to share it with my mother-in-law. Love you!

McTeacher Night

McTeacher night is a fundraiser that McDonalds allows our school to do each year.  Its really fun because us teachers get to work there.  You can either work the drive-thru, the counter where you get the trays ready for each order, the lobby where you clean tables, mop floors, or sell cookes or make fries...mmm!  So we encourage our students to come and we get a profit of the sales from our time serving.  By the way, fast food is intense and fast paced.  The counter is a bit harder than you might think!!!
I had to bring Hudson because Jared was studying and he enjoyed himself quite thoroughly, especially meeting Ronald McDonald.  I was running the lobby cleaning tables so I could watch Hudson and do my job.  But when I was done I let Hudson loose and he ran straight for Ronald which I thought was so funny!  Aren't kids normally scared of him?!

He thought Hudson was fun and put him on his shoes.
He liked it, really!
He LOVED running around the restaurant!  By this time, most of the families were gone so the few left Hudson would come over and talk to them.  Or run to his favorite food sign; Hudson loves food:).
Then he runs to the door.
And back to Ronald for some knuckles or "the rock".
The ladies like Hudson's energy and enthusiasm so they gave him a little Ronald McDonald toy.

By Ronald...it was a pleasure:).

Glamour Girls Ministries

On one of my few good nights, I decided to help out my dear friends Nicole and Sarah set up for a Princess Party fundraiser for their Glamour Girls Ministry.  If you haven't heard about Glamour Girls, its a non-profit organization that encourages young ladies to focus on a Christ-like image, not a worldly image.

We started setting up around 9pm, yes I know that's late but Huddy's in bed and it didn't interfere with study time, and I got to socialize:).  It was a blast!  My goal was to leave by midnight but we made it out of there around 12:45am..at least I did.
Corey and I set up the tables and then Raelyn and him took some photo ops.
Some of the tables and decor

 My dear friend Nicole:).
The gorgeous cupcake centerpieces.  I got to put the leaves on!
Yes, this is Spency around midnight drinking a Coke...don't ask!

Michelle tweaking the photo op area.
 Sicily and her babies

Rae Rae and I decorated our basket together:)

 Looking good!
My stage I decorated!  See our basket:)
 T-shirt sales

The cupcake table-I guess the top cup cake was maple and eggs.  Sounds interesting but I guess it was fabulous!

I had a fun night decorating!  It's always good to help out for a good cause.  Sarah and Nicole have such a heart for young women and a healthy Christ-like image.  For more information check out Glamour Girl Ministries.  If you feel your heart strings tug, and if led, please donate towards this cause.  Pass the word to youth groups, churches, and youth.  If you would like to speak to Sarah or Nicole directly about this conference, I would be glad to help!

Toe Jam

Lately, Hudson has a new obession....toe jam.

Jared likes to refer to it as "lint" but its obviously toe jam.  Does lint sound more manly?
This "lint" even effects Hudson's piano playing.

Then he gives it to daddy.

And goes back to playing, even with some toe jam remains.

The Hand

From day 1, Hudson has had a "hand" that is always part of his expressions.  Its up when he is happy, sad, eating, focused...well you'll see.  It's usually the right hand but sometimes it switches to the left:).
