Star Wars

One Star Wars party and this

Sibling Love

I always want to remember how much they love each other!  Hudson always comments when we're in stores that Hannah needs this or that (mostly hair accessories) because she'll look so cute (yes, his words not mine but he might be copying me, might be:)).  So the other day we were at home and he grabs the headband off the table and starts to wrestle Hannah.  I asked him what he was doing.  He replies "I'm putting her headband on so she'll look cute."  Ah, melt my heart!

These two are quite the pair!

Gymnastics

We did our first sessions at Spokane Gymnastics this spring.  For starters, I didn't know what to expect but I am a big believer in gymnastics now!  Hudson is cautious and doesn't show a lot of coordinating and athleticism yet so at the first "kick" of the soccer ball, I enrolled him in gymnastics (I'm saving soccer until I know he's ready!).  So here is his evolution:

How he started doing the balance beam - two handed!

He always waits for help:)

Yes first "tuck roll" he did himself

Scooting

Climbing the ladder

Still trying to go across the balance beam

Doing the bar

Double bars

Waiting for help-the class lines up behind him:)

Look mom!

I do it myself!

Double bars-solo!

They just have fun!

We're working on jumping now...

Still unsure

Finished by himself, first time!

Backwards!

Trampoline fun

Crawling under!

Listening to Coach

Picking up sand (beanbags) on the beam

Working on jumping over those blocks

Trying the beam by himself!

Stepping over a cone, solo

Sister's getting tired...

Songs!

Straddle jumps

Pencil jumps

Push over the wave!

Tuck roll!

And she's out!

Look at that front toe!  So straight!

Help!

Trying to get him to jump

Double bars

You can do it Hudson!

Solo

He actually jumped himself-she had to make him re-try but he did it!

Unforcanetly, I missed his last class (due to a training).  The last class was their "performance" and they  revealed all they learned.  I was very impressed (from the videos my mom took).

Hudson & Coach Kelsey

I was so pleased with Spokane Gymnastics.  Coach Kelsey had a new theme every week from Easter, camping, the beach, cowboy, etc.  She was so creative and energetic.  Hudson really blossomed during these classes. His confidence has grown and most of all he is learning about his body and how to roll, balance, jump and so on.  I'm so proud of him!  I would ask him after each class what his favorite part was and most times he'd reply with "the balance beam."  Every time he took a step or tried I would tell him what an awesome job he was doing.  His confidence soared!  By the end he was walking one foot in front of the other and a few steps without Coach.  Amazing!
We will definitely do gymnastics again next year!
