Wipfli Fun

Earlier this spring, we had the pleasure of heading over to one of Jared's co-workers house for a fun family night!  A client in Alaska had donated some salmon and Gail graciously offered to host a Wipfli family night.  Gail is in front on the couch, left hand side, with the soccer girl sitting on her lap.  Her house was gorgeous!  Such a classic South Hill home with lots of character!  I was most excited because I was finally able to see Liza (front row standing, right) wither her sons Rowen and baby Paxton.  I hadn't met Paxton so I was baby anxious and got lots of baby snuggles:).

Jared has a great group of co-workers with a wonderful family environment.  Fun times!

4th of July Celebrations!

For the fourth, we headed to the lake!  Hudson loves the lake and gets very excited to "throw balls of sand" into the water and rocks.  He literally could sit on the beach all day and play in the sand, not the water:).  I don't have a water baby here friends but he does love the lake.  

On the fourth we went for a boat ride.  Hudson loves Papa's boat because he has the covered bow to hang out in.  After a ride to see the "airplanes" Hudson eventually came out...

We headed back to play a fun game of ladder golf with our neighbors.  Hudson is quite the master of this game, or so he thinks.  We let him throw the rubber balls and everyone humors his attempts:).

That night it was time for a campfire and some smores.  I believe this is Hudson's first smore and boy was it messy!  He liked it though:).  We watched some fireworks and put the kiddo down around 10.  

The next day daddy went to work and Gigi & Gpa came up for the day.  Hudson loves to sit with the boys.

Then Nana pulled out the butterfly net!  We were trying to catch them because they were all over the beach.  Alas, mamma failed:(.  Papa caught one but they fly away very quickly!

Then Pops turned the net into a fishing net and went water skipper fishing:).  We caught some and put them in his bug collector.  He loved using the magnifying glass to analyze his "findings."

Sunnyside Adventures

So after a trip to LA, Portland, and the lake we then headed to Sunnyside for our nieces 1st birthday.  It was so fun to see how big she has gotten and be part of the celebrations.  Here is cousin Claire with her 1st cupcake!

and others:).  He was quite the life of the party.  We've never had any other kiddos at Hudson's birthday parties so it was fun to watch them play and interact, that is kids and adults.

The next morning at Grandma's, she read him his favorite book "The Poky Little Puppy."

And played cars!  But then he realized he could spin the chair and it became a "ride."  Yes, he's very geared for rides since Disneyland.  Here is spinning Grandpa, with a little video.

Then we left after lunch.  It was a quick trip but this mamma was tired and apparently so was her boy:).

Wordless Wednesday

A Dilworth Wedding

After a busy trip to LA, we came back for less than 36 hours and I was on a plane to Portland for my dear friend Sarah's wedding.  I opted to leave the boys at home because it was a lot of running around so I rented a car and stayed with my friend Heather Bickel but she was housesitting so I hung out mainly with her mom.  Poor Mamma Bickel just had back surgery so she was cooped up and some company was well appreciated:).  We stayed up way to late every night chatting about our beloved Heather, decor, cleaning, and celebrity gossip.  So fun!

The next morning Heather blessed us with her presence:).  She was busy housesitting/nannying for a few busy teenagers who gave her a run for her money.  I got ready and headed over to Sarah's parent's house for a brunch and some pre-wedding fun.  Her sisters and best friend Ellie were doing her hair, it was quite the process.   Look at her in dress though, priceless!  She looked gorgeous!

We headed to The Outlook House, a community center overlooking the river.  I got the privilege of driving the bride there!  As the girls got ready, I was on flower girl duty.  Yes, these adorable 3 and 5 year olds were all mine.  I will say, it made me miss my own 3 year old more than ever!  These girls were adorable but needed some perimeters so I was willing to in force them by limiting messy snacks while in flower girl dresses, entertaining them (watching DVDs, walking around the Outlook House, grabbing marshmallows for them, coloring…) I could go on, ha!  Otherwise I was trying to help set up for the "event" and put in charge or flower bouquets.  I was busy and starting to feel pregnant by the end of the day!

Then it was reception time!  I had no idea Chris was such a ham and good dancer.  He really got the crowd into it and helped pick the songs for the "party"!

Sarah needed a break from all the dancing.  Again, isn't she gorgeous?!

I pray for God's presence and guidance in their marriage!  

Chris is an awesome guy and I hope he can take care of my Dil as God sees fit.  

Sarah and Chris met at Eastern where they were both teaching.  Chris has a PhD in philosophy and Sarah has her masters in English.  Apparently they met because the Philosophy and English offices were on the same level and Sarah caught his eye:).  Chris swore he would never date anyone from work but lookie lookie!  I think Sarah fell in love with his intelligence from the beginning.  She always wanted a "deep" relationship:).  Sometimes I wonder how we're friends, lol:).

One of my favorite parts of the wedding was her sister Grace's speech.  Apparently Sarah has grown up watching Pride and Prejudice daily after school.  I knew she loved this book but she was/is a big obsessed.  So Grace based her whole speech off of the men in this book and who Dil chose as her beloved husband.  Her speech was so good with suspense, laughter, and 100% for Sarah.  In the end, she chose Mr. Bingley.  Now for those of us who aren't experts on this novel, Grace encouraged us to read the book to find out how Mr. Bingley and Chris are alike.  I plan on doing this, only not reading but rather watching the movie:). Although I did find this character analysis online: 

Charles Bingley

Mr. Bingley, much like Jane, is an amiable and good-tempered person. He is not overly concerned with class differences, and Jane's poor family connections are not a serious deterrent to his attachment to her. Bingley is very modest and easily swayed by the advice of his friends, as seen in his decision not to propose to Jane as a result of Darcy's belief that Jane is not really attached to him. Also like Jane, Bingley lacks serious character faults and is thus static throughout the novel. His character and his love for Jane remain constant; the only thing that changes is the advice of Darcy, which leads him not to propose to Jane in the beginning of the novel but to propose to her in the end.
