Choo Choo Huddy is Two!!!

That's right, Hudson is 2!  The last two birthdays we've just done small birthdays and I think we'll continue because I love the quality time Hudson gets with his family.  We were so blessed to have both sets of grandparents and great-grandparents present (one of which got lost on the way into town but that's another story:)).

Since Hudson LOVES Thomas the train, we did a Thomas theme.  Here's the invite:

We told Hudson it was his birthday and that both grandparents and great-grandparents were coming.
He was VERY excited!!!!!  He was playing at his table, then down on the floor, just all over the place:).

He even helped daddy clean the windows.

Uncle Daryl was one of the first to arrive and Hudson's first words to him were "Where's Tiffany?"  Ha. Tiffany wasn't able to make it but he knew they went together.

The brothers in their train hats:).

Then Grandma Ev and Grandpa Hank came, Huddy was gaga for his Grandma!

So he showed off his tractor riding skills...

My cake isn't as cute as I had hoped...I bought a kit from Rosauers to put on top but I just ran out of time to do it properly.  Hudson loved the train and that's all that matters!

Then Huddy showed his Grandma the boxes and presents.

Off for a short visit with Papa

Look how well I crawl!

Gpa & Gigi

"Look Gama!"

This face tells it all!  He knew that everyone was there for him and he LOVED every minute of it!

The family mingled

Hudson played

Lunch time!  We had Longhorn, a family favorite, and Huddy had a potato.  It took some coaxing but Grandpa Hank got him to eat it:).

Not quite sure

The family

Then it was off for more entertainment!

"Daddy, let's play!"

Great Grandpa Haak likes to sing a Dutch song with the kids bouncing on his knees.  He sings it in Dutch and Huddy loved it:).

More Gama time

Great Grandpa, I'm sitting on Gama's lap now:).

One thing Hudson loves to do right now is count toes.  This was hours of entertainment in Disneyland, in the car, etc.  Papa did it for a few minutes and then he went to Grandpa Hank.

"Count Toes"

Uncle Daryl brought his turkey call.  Grandpa showed him how to call it.

He liked it!

Papa, did you see me?

Time for presents!

Trucks!  We needed those!

The first thing he does, is check out the wheels.

More presents...

Grandma Ev found some new Thomas books, big hit!

So did Nana.

Grandma & Grandpa Haak also got Huddy a wagon!  Mommy is really excited about this:).

But it was back to the books...

We had to coax him over to this present but when he opened it

he went back to the book

As soon as he saw the mower had wheels, he dropped the book.

We had a very excited Toddler!  Thanks Aunt Tiff & Uncle Daryl!

Huddy then opened up a chair and tent!  Fun!

Thomas whistle, he had lots of fun trying to blow it!

So Great Grandpa showed him.

Mommy & Daddy got him a Duplo Thomas

He drove it on everything and took it every where.

Then he found out how fun the tent was:).

Look!  I'm with Daddy in the tent!

Kisses Gama!

My head is almost too big to fit through!

Not much room in there for 2

But Thomas is always invited

The tent

More Gama kisses!

"Kisses Gama!"

The party animals

Choo Choo I'm 2!

Pre-cake celebrations!

I gave the Thomas on the cake to Huddy and he was in love:).

Oh cake too?!  Sweet!

"More cake/ice cream Nana.  Please, please, please."

Thanks Papa for helping me

MMM!!!

Thomas play time

I bought Hudons a shirt:
"Choo Choo Guess Who's Turning 2?  Hudson"

Look Gigi & Great Grandma, its Thomas!

All smiles!

Then it was back to the tent.

The head is still an issue for shirts, tents, etc.

One of Hudson's new favorite books is "The Engine That Could" but Huddy calls it "The Little Blue Engine."  He will ask for it morning, noon, and night!

4 Generations of Haak men

Then Gama asked me if wanted to put some gas in my mower.  She showed me how.

The hand switches from left to right, one is always "up" and out.  Funny kiddo:).

Nice wheels

Hudson's 2nd birthday was a bit hit; despite that mamma thought the party was a half hour later than it was.  Ha, ha.  I'm just not a detail person...Hudson was so happy to see all his family and he knew they were there for him.  It is so neat to have both sets of grandparents and great grandparents who enjoy one another.  What a wonderful family we have and we're so blessed and thankful to have you in our lives.  Thank you for making Huddy a loved priority:).
