Water Fun

For Hudson's birthday, Gigi, Gpa, and Aunt Kiki gave him this super fun pool.  Well we finally blew it up and he had a ball.  The hose was his tool of choice.

Neighborhood Fun

Jared and I both grew up in the country.  We aren't used to neighbors but I have to say, if you're gonna have neighbors we have the best ones!  Our development is full of young parents and kids.  The summer is the best because my teacher-friend neighbors are home as well so its a kid party every day.  

This summer, Huddy and I have stuck close to home...with the whole fear of other public restrooms:).  I was frustrated at first but now am loving the relaxed daily routine.  We get up, go for a walk some mornings or the gym, and when we come back kids are out playing.

Eli is the craziest driver!  He off rodes his Mustang; up, down, and all over the sidewalks.  Watch out!

After a bit of this and that, we set up camp.  We usually have a morning snack outside:).

Yesterday our neighbor Lexi came over and blew some bubbles with us.  Isn't she a doll?!

 I love having neighbors, but I LOVE my neighbors.  Their are some many kids and families to play with, we're never bored.  I love morning walks in the Ponderosa Hills, or to the coffee stand, especially when we hit The Trellis:).  I feel so blessed that God led us to this neighborhood, however long we stay. I really can't wait for baby Addison to get walkin', then we'll have even more FUN!

VBS

Two weeks after potty training, it was Vacation Bible School (VBS) time at my parent's church.  At first I was going to lead the 4/5 graders but as Hudson became potty trained, let's just say he is a bit needer, especially of mamma!  I told my mom I just couldn't lead but I'd come up and play with the 3 and 4 year olds with my favorite two people in the world: Darlene and Geri!  Since Hudson was only 2, he needed a lot of help and so I was with him every morning.

We had a schedule (which I love!) and one rotation was to play outside.  See the kids...see Hudson.  Yeah, that was how most of the week went.  This was outside game time and snack.  Hudson's and my favorite rotation:).

Our schedule had us walking a lot, which was good to wear the little ones out!

Then it was missionary story time.  I know you will find this shocking, but this is when I used to get in the most trouble:).  Sitting and listening has never been a strength I possess:(.  A few of the kids started telling Hudson to "Shh!" so I knew that was the cue and off we went for a walk or to find Nana.

Because Huddy is only 2, he didn't sit long.  Up and down the stairs was a fun game.

Then it was time for another story but this time it was from Mary, Jesus' mother.

A bird that sings!  So fun!

But as you guessed he didn't last long there so we had to find more entertainment.  

After that rotation, we went to crafts.  Here we are making woven coasters.

But Hudson enjoyed the Knex blanket the most.  We did most of the crafts but not this one.

I love this picture because these high school girls are helping out at VBS. 

Geri and I used to lead Children's Church worship during the 11:00 service all our lives.  We would lead the song time and these girls were so little when we did it.  We used to teach them and now they are teaching my son.  Crazy how time flies but neat to see them giving back!

The last rotation of the day was in our own room where we talked where we had a Bible lesson.  This is the last day but we talked about evidence of God, how nothing is impossible with God, and so on.

Besides the game and snack time, Hudson's favorite was the worship, song time.  He LOVED it!

He loved watching the other kids sing and do the motions to the words.  After every song he would say "I like that song" or "That's a good one."  Nana bought us the cd to listen to in the car and it's a favorite!

I loved taking Hudson to VBS.  He learned how to interact with other kids and about Jesus, God's son.   All in all it was a fabulous experience with only 1 day having an accident.  He make it from 9-1pm every day waiting to go potty until he was home.  Good job Hudson!
