Happy 60th Anniversary Gigi & Gpa

We have an amazing family, have I ever mentioned that?  Both sides of the family are amazing!  My parents have been married almost 35 years, Jared's parents about the same, and both our Grandparents have been married for 60+ years.  It's such a testimony and Jared and I can't wait to make it to 60 years!

This week was my Grandparents, Gigi & Gpa's, 60th anniversary.  We celebrated "Holman" style.  Gigi said she just wanted a low key anniversary but would love us to come to dinner at Holman.  So we did.  Here's a pic of the family and their cake, she did want a cake:).

Since she didn't want a big deal made, Nana and I brainstormed some cute ideas.  I came up with a singing telegram!  So Elvis celebrated with us!  Gigi was a bit surprised:).
Elvis made an appearance!

Elvis reading his poem to Gigi & Gap

Here is what his poem said:

Burt & Jean Johnson
60th Anniversary

This is Burt & Jean’s special day.  So we want to celebrate in every way.

They are the special ones.  So today we want them to have a lot of fun.

We want Blizzard Burt and Jean to laugh and giggle.  So we sent Elvis to give them a wiggle.

Jean watch out for the cactus.  They really hurt and Elvis wouldn’t lie.

Don’t mess with Burt & Jean when they are playing cards because they are quite the pair.

This is Burt & Jean’s 60th anniversary and their love grows stronger with each new year with all the joy and maybe one tear.

We care about Burt & Jean very much because they give our lives their loving touch.

We know they will always care because for us, they have always been there.

As parents, they were the best.  We wouldn’t trade them for any of the rest.

We want this anniversary to be the best one of their lives because we will love them forever and forever be their devoted family.  But most important Burt & Jean will be in our hearts forever!

Happy Anniversary from the family!

Notice the cute party hats and necklaces!

Ah, kisses!

She did get a bit embarrassed….

Happy 60th Gigi & Gpa!
Elvis came; gave them some balloons, hats, necklaces, kisses, roses; read a poem; sang a little song; and we all laughed and giggled!  The Holman crew sure enjoyed it as did I!

We love you Gigi & Gpa!  Thank you for being a great example of love and committment!

Fun with Daddy!

The one "me" time I get is on Monday nights when I hit up Zumba…unless Jared is out of town.  I have been known to bribe my parents with dinner and grandchildren to get to go when Jared's gone:).  Needless to say I came home one evening and this is the delightful family I came home to.

For starters, Hudson loves being on Daddy's shoulders.  He liked swinging the anchor of his skunk balloon which is smarties.  His favorite is when it hits the walls, obviously I'm not a big fan but boys will be boys!  When I came home, Hudson told me that Daddy is stronger than Aaron (Miss Lexie's husband who he is enamored with because he works out in front of the kids with push ups and so on).  This was a big complement for Daddy!!!

Then somehow it turned into races down the stairs.  Jared said Hannah was squealing, well it's really shrieking!  She's so loud but it was all happy sounds!

Some shrieks and shrills of Hannah's laughter and love for her brother:).  Click on the Hannah Giggles!!! link below to watch another video and hear her!

February Recap

My little cleaner!
Yes we still love our monster trucks!

Morning hair

They even sleep with me while daddy is gone!  They keep me safe:).

This is Hudson's dirt track, our brown blanket.  We play with this almost daily right now!

Crooked Smile

Snuggeling with mommy and playing with his space ship, Fred!

Pre haircut treat
Haircut!
Nap at Nana's!
Hudson loves to play "teacher".  He tells us "You need to be quiet, shh!  Now practice your letters on your pants."  So we trace our letters with our fingers on our pant legs.  He sits there and tells us, especially me, to be quiet!  Notice his teacher stick he is twirling?  Yes, that's his fishing pole.

Working on his name

For "Q" week we worked on a quilt with pattern blocks

One of my favorite new developments is playing games with Hudson.  He is really into UNO Moo! and Candyland.

Picking his animals
Putting his animals behind his haystack
Playing Candyland
Another favorite activity is throwing all his toys from the ottoman out...

This isn't mommy's favorite game:).

Just Like Daddy

Morning Routines

So I've been really trying to let Hudson "grow up" sigh.  I let him get dressed every morning but I have to usually leave the room because it.takes.him.forever!  I get impatient so I go brush my teeth, fold laundry, clean…the list goes on.  But usually I leave Hannah in there to "assist" him.

It always ends in loves:).
