Christmas Celebrations-Haak Style

     For starters, we are so blessed.  We have two loving, caring, and involved parents and family on both sides.  It was a joy this holiday season to travel to Sunnyside twice over the Christmas break.  If you asked me as I was packing up, I wouldn't have agreed but when we are down in Sunnyside, I just love it!  

     For starters, Hudson loves the cows.  He knows that Grandma Ev and Grandpa Hank have lots of cows "moo" as he says.  He also loves their dogs "Twiggy" and "Chicco".  The entire time we are visiting, Hudson will say "outside", "cows", or "Twiggy and "Chicco".  There are many visits to the window or quick walks outside because it was soo cold.  

     This Christmas, Jordan and Lissa (the parents-to-be), hosted our gathering.  Hudson really has enjoyed opening presents.  Daddy helped him rip them open:).

 Hudson's first gift was a John Deere tractor that the uncles helped put together.

 If those aren't the two best uncles, I don't know who is!

 Down in Sunnyside they have a LARGE tractor store with a kids section.  That is where they got Huddy's tractor and these toy tractor and combine.  They are actually books too!

 Then Grandma Ev gave Hudson a talking book where you record your voice as you read the story.  She gave him the book "Guess How Much I Miss You".  Look at all her sons gathered around with Hudson listening to the book.  So precious!

 Then the father-to-be got out the light sabers.  Yes Jordan is going to be a dad but he has a bit to learn on how to interact with babies and toddlers.

 But then, Uncle Jordan redeemed himself.  He really plays so well with Hudson.  Hudson got this hammer and peg board.  We have been really working on colors with Hudson so Uncle J jumped in to reinforce them.

 And then we ended with a story.  Uncle J always reads to Hudson.  

We can't wait for next Christmas when there will be another Haak baby:)

The next day it was time to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandma offered that we head out to watch a movie while she watches Huddy.  We didn't refuse the offer and picked out a movie lickidy split.  We chose to watch the newest Chronicles of Narnia movie, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Hudson loves to learn.  He has been counting for a while now but here is 1-10 on the video.  I can start on 1 and skip every other number and he will fill in the missing number.  I can start at 2 and he will do the same.  My kindergarteners can't even do this!!!  Smart boy:).

Running is what Hudson does best.  He is never still and very vocal with his Grandparents!!!  He also loves to wear daddy's hat.  Go Zags!

Then we watched a funny You Tube video about Dads.  Hudson loved the music in the video so much that he kept saying "again".  He probably watched it 10 times!

So we had to show Aunt Lissa!

After attempting to eat a meal out, my toddler became extremely fussy.  So I went to change his diaper and he had an extreme sore on his tooshie.  So we headed home to grandma's for a quick bath and some diaper cream asap!  

What a fun extended weekend we had!  Thanks again Grandma & Grandpa Haak for a wonderful time!
