Grandma Comes to Visit!

There were two reasons I wanted to stay at home this year.  1) because I knew this little girl would give me a run for my money and 2) that every since Jared has gotten his CPA he is traveling a lot more.  I couldn't handle a newborn and travel at this point!  So when Jared had to be gone 2 weeks in a row, he was home for about 36 hours, Grandma Ev volunteered to help out!  It was so nice!  She was just going to come up the first week while my parents were gone in NY but ended up coming back both weeks because I truly needed the help!  Its so nice to have someone to hold Hannah 24/7.  If she gets really upset I swear its always around a nap time, meal time, or just any of the most inconvenient times in the world!  One day when she had left, I was trying to read a book to Hudson and Hannah got hysterical so I had to go get her.  I tried calming her down and just couldn't and eventually I heard his door slam.  He had read his book, turned out the lights, and put himself to bed.  I felt so bad!  I went in and kissed him!  So needless to say with Grandma Ev around, that never happens!

The first time she came in, a friend had told me about these elk out in Liberty Lake near Cabelas.  We were on Ee week so it worked out perfectly!  She had just given me verbal directions but with one wrong turn, we found it!  They were literally right along side the road.  This is the first one we saw, actually Hudson pointed him out or we would have missed it!

He didn't move so we didn't know if he was hurt or what.  Grandma Ev was wonderful and pointed out all the elk poop:).  That was quite the topic of conversation for a few days.

Then as we were talking we heard an elk call.  We looked across the street and there were two more!  Another buck with cow.

He was right next to the road, so cool!

Then two more cows came over.

We had a blast.  Nothing like a Starbucks and a long drive to simmer my little girl down!

Then it was play time!
Hudson is really into hide n seek.  He would count to 10 or Grandma would (sometimes even holding Hannah) and look for Hudson.  At first he would always give away his hiding spot by saying "Here I am!"  but eventually he would wait to be found.  However, he did hide in the same spot over and over:).

Grandma found him!

Then he would hide his race cars!

Counting

Hudson also enjoyed running laps around the living room.  He would pretend he was racing like Lightening McQueen.  Grandma would narrate like "Around the Rody, behind the couch, oh he crashes in to the elliptical" and so on.  He thought this was too cool!

Back to hide n seek.

Discussing who's gonna count and who's gonna hide.

The box became a favorite, after the tent.  Hudson didn't think Grandma could fit but she proved him wrong.

Let me stop to check on baby Hannah!

I found you Grandma!

It was a great two weeks of visits and help.  I had to get one pic of Grandma and her grandkids.

Thank you Grandma, we love you!
