Pops loves his Priest Lake events and on his favorite blog As the Lake Churns he saw that they were having a fishing derby at Priest. They stocked the pond by the golf course and gave each kid a fishing pole, shirt, frisbee, snacks, hot dog, juice, and bait of course. We were ecstatic because this is the prime opportunity to teach Hudson about fishing, with a stocked pond and all the fun that goes with it! Jared, Pops, and Hud went ahead while Nana and I waited for miss Hannah to wake up.
He got a bit, bored so he changed shirts and let Pops do some fishing:).
And then he was back at it! Which was good timing because he caught his first fish!
It might be small but we were proud!
Then Pops continued fishing in pursuit of a bigger fish in the sea.
Hudson needed a break...

We ended with a nice juice and hot dog. A hard days work!
Then it was time for Nana and Pops to go so we fished for a bit as a family…until mommy caught her line with the neighbors and then we were done too:).
We did come back later that night and Hudson's fascination was with
the worms! I on the other hand hand Hannah on my back and found the fishing very enjoyable!

| World's smallest fish |
Our overall fishing wasn't that impressive. 3 total: one for Hudson, Pops, and I. Hudson caught the biggest at a whopping 4 inches and mine was the smallest with a whole 3 inches, being overly generous here. We learned a lot! How to bait, cast and even catch a few fish. We hope Hudson looks forward to our next trip. I'm sure he will if worms are included:).
