Baby Haak

On July 10th, my third cesarean was scheduled for 7am.  We had to arrive at Sacred Heart at 5:30 am.  Yes Jared and and I spent the night scurrying around getting ready.  We should know what to do right?!  It's our third kid!  We took Hudson and Hannah up to Nana and Pops with Uncle Joe.  Uncle Joe and Pops had set up tents for the kids to sleep in with a special pretend campfire and real marshmallows.  The kids were in heaven.  We ate dinner there and then headed home.  Hudson was excited to know if it was going to be a boy or a girl.  His boy name was Ham Haak and his girl name was Harmony Haak (which he learned from school).  Sweet kids:).  Hannah wanted it to be a girl so she could be spider girl with her for halloween.  Time will tell:).  We finally fell asleep and then it felt like the alarm went off.  I did paint my toes at 4am because I didn't get a chance for my last pedicure before baby arrived.
We did make it to the hospital by 5:30ish thanks to Jared.  Love that punctual man!
It was the same thing, get ready, change talk over your history, yadda yadda yadda.  Then it was time to go into the operating room.  I always get nervous then because it's so cold.  I admit I shake a bit.  Then they gave me the spinal tap.  It stings a bit but then I'm numb within minutes, maybe seconds.  Before you know it I heard our baby:

Jared announced it was a Hope!
Yes we had a baby girl!

Cutting the umbilical cord
She was 7lbs 8oz our tiniest baby yet!

She was angelic from the moment we met her.  She cried a bit but calmed down pretty quickly.
Hope Louise Haak was here!

Then I was sent to recovery...
Finally Hope was able to meet her siblings!!!

Just chilling in her bassinet.

The nurse came and did her foot prints and gave Hope her first bath.

Then she calmed right down for a snuggle:).

Then it was time for some visitors!!!!

WE did have a pool going on that sex and weight of the baby.  Jared was the keeper of the money to make sure there were no shenanigans!  Nana won!

That night, daddy patiently walked with Hope and she slept in her bassinet!!! What a good baby!

The next day we had some adorable visitors again:).

The next night I was already trying to get my papers ready to head home!  Jared said I wasn't hiding it well but I wanted to be on it so we could head home!

That next morning we were the first ones discharged!  Yay!!!
Here we are headed home!

At home we had a few hours withe Hudson and Hannah and we enjoyed an extra nap!

She even slept in her cradle again at home!
What a good baby!!!

She liked her:).

Brother asked to hold her right away!

Cousin Ashely was at the hospital and she asked Hudson if he wanted a boy or a girl.  At first he had said boy and then he changed to a girl.  He told Ashley "I prayed and prayed and prayed for a healthy baby and that is what I got!!!"  Isn't he the best big brother ever?!

Then it was time for Hope's first bath at home!
The whole family squeezed into our bathroom to participate!
Hope wasn't too excited about it...

She did calm down for a minute with her hair

Few, all done!

Then brother was eager to hold Hope again.  She was so calm after her bath.

Hope is so sweet!  She is so calm and just loves to be held.
I love our after feeding snuggles.

Our days include a few things

Sleeping...well some of us!
Whether or not its in the swing or snuggling with dad in the chair downstairs, we all like sleep!

Sun bathing because Hopes bili levels were getting high again.  Trying to get some sunshine on her!

Holding and feeding baby Hope.  We had to supplement for Hope to push out the bili so Hudson was the honorary bottle feeder.  He was a bit excited!!!

Drawing, writing, coloring

The older kids had VBC, Vacation Bible Camp the week after Hope was born at Foothills.  It was a mountain theme, Camp Kilimanjaro.

My view in the backseat:).

We had lots of movie nights.  Some of us play and some of us hold Hope.

Where's Hannah?
Oh there she is!

Hannah's first time feeding Hope.

Play Dough Fun!!

Swimming time!

Hannah running an errand with me!  She's always up for an outing.  Her care bear is baby Hope:).

Sisters!

And just playing around!

She might look upset but she really calms down so easily!

My three amigos!

Hope next to a Bitty Baby.

She's a natural shopper like her mamma and sister!

I'd rather be shopping than napping!
Lots of painting!

Snuggles and shows

Naps, lots of naps for some:).

The beautiful princess singing to her sister:).  Melts my heart.

You can tell I'm a pumping mom because Hannah shows me how to use the pump supplies.
Obviously it comes from your tummy!

And this is our sweet angel...

Ouch baby girl!  Let go of your hair!

This is the arrival and first few days with our wonderful baby Hope.
We are blessed to have you in our family.  I think it's fair to say we are ALL smitten with you.  You are just angelic with your temperament and your coos and awws.
Love you baby Hope!  Welcome to our family!

  1. So fun to read about Hope! She has a lot more hair than I realized! Your c-section pictures are so interesting to me because I was passing in and out of consciousness and had no idea what was going on around me during mine. Yours looks calm and you look so alert! Love all the sweet sibling pictures! Too precious!
