Foothills Community Egg Hunt

I can't help but keep tradition alive and go to my old neighborhoods community egg hunt.
Our church is so big and the egg hunt was during nap time, that this seemed a way better option.  Plus I LOVE seeing childhood friends and their kids, so fun!

I know this may sound silly, but we practiced the morning of the egg hunt.  Last year, if you remember, poor kid was crying and didn't want to touch an egg.  Then I put an egg or two in his bucket and he threw them out, back onto the ground.  So I thought we'd practice a bit.  He was doing so well at home, I knew this was going to be a good year!

Daddy and Hudson were lined up ready to go.  0-3 gets a 2 minute head start and we were ready.  There was still snow on the ground this year!  As we moved Hudson up to the line, he started to get shy.  He was again reluctant to start.

So being the good mommy I am, I picked up a few eggs and put them around his bucket because when the older kiddos come, there's no eggs left!  He eventually warmed up and picked up the few by his pail.

This is his new fad, the hood.  He loves his hoods on:).

Then it turned into running and enjoying the snow:).

Time for a picture of Libby, Sharon & Tyler's little girl.

"Cheese Pops!"

"I'm going to be 3!"

"Look Nanna, look!  Look at all my eggs!"  Ha, I think he ended up with 5 but that was plenty.

Time for a photo op:
Molly and Libby
Hudson
Amelia & Madeline

And Libby's done!
But look at these eggs and candy!

It was a great day full of sunshine, even with the snow.  What a fun way to celebrate our Lord with family and friends.  Thank you Jesus!

Spring Break 2012~Woo Hoo!

Spring break this year was quite...normal:).  We were supposed to be in Disneyland visiting Uncle Joe again in LA but my mom needed to have surgery instead, and I'm so glad she did.  She was hospitalized earlier this fall and diagnosed with diverticulitis.  Since then, she still never felt well, having pains and attacks.  Well it got worse and finally more than she could take in March.  She had to admit she couldn't watch Hudson on her special Thursday dates with him and I knew it was bad then.  She ended up in the hospital and having surgery 3 days later.  They removed 6 inches of her colon which had 2 rotten abscesses on it.  No wonder she was in so much pain!  We had many visits for dinner and ice cream to visit Nana.  It was so hard to watch her in so much pain but she is feeling better.  Thank you Jesus!  I guess she was days away from needing a permanent colostomy bag.  God is good and we are glad she is on the mend.

My way of cheering up Nana, besides bringing Hudson, was balloons!  Hudson wanted the Harley ballon and the turtle, and I couldn't resist!  He loved running in the room making them move and follow him:).

Since Nana has been home, she has a nurse come up daily to check on her bag.  She is healing really well but can't really leave the house for an extended period of time.  So we brought the party to her:).  Hudson loved playing outs tide in the rocks!

Then Pops made him a water fall area to play with down in the woods.  Hudson loved putting the sticks in the water and throwing them in the pond.  He just loves the outdoors!

"Look mom, they're not dirty!"  He hates dirty hands but he learned to how wash them in the water:).

My cool collage:).

Mamma and her boy!

Other than hanging with Pops and Nana for a few days, we had a few play dates and lunch with my Grandparents.  We sure had a relaxing break which is what this pregnant mamma needed!

A Sneak Peak

Well I was a lucky girl because at my 15 week doctor appointment, my doc asked if I was willing to stay a few minutes longer and get an ultrasound.  I jumped at the chance!
My doctor's office is in a temporary location because a fire.  So the old ultrasound machine was destroyed and the new machine had come in and the tech was there so my doctor was trying to get lots of practice.
Here is baby Haak #2 at 15 weeks.
Gorgeous huh?!  God is amazing!  Well the doctor said he could tell the gender and asked if I wanted to know.  Being blunt and not thinking, I blurted out "Yes I want to know but my husband doesn't."  Well he wouldn't tell me then:(.  Ha, I didn't want to make Jared upset but I really want to know this time.  Every time I ask him if I get to find out the gender he smiles and walks away.
Well the doc could tell what the gender is, any guesses?
I will say he said this one is a mover and a shaker!  He had a hard time getting the hard beat because it was all over the place, literally!!!

A Very Different Pregnancy

15 weeks and rockin' a bump

This pregnancy has been very different from my first one.  For starters I found out we were pregnant in early January.  In two months, January and February, I managed to miss 20 days of work.  Yes 20 days!  The worst day was probably Valentine's Day.  The night before I got sick, which I was 12 weeks at the time so it was kind of odd it was my first time throwing up, so I had full intentions of working the next day because it was Valentine's Day and I can't miss that day!  Valentine's Day parties and activities are the best!  I tried but that morning as soon as I ate, I knew I wasn't working.  So I decided to call my doc and ask to see them.  I had lost 12 lbs in two weeks and I was hardly eating or drinking at all, I just physically couldn't.  So I set an apt and when they weighed me and analyzed my "deposit" they said I had lost a lot of weight and was dehydrated and malnourished.  I knew half a packet of oatmeal for breakfast, half a bagel for lunch, and a quarter chicken burger for dinner wasn't enough!  So they sent me to Sacred Heart to get IV's.  I ended up needed 5 liters, each liter taking a little over an hour.  That's a lot of fluid.  In a weird way it was relaxing.  I could put my feet up, which I can NEVER do at work, and not at home with an active toddler.  I was able to watch tv, cable tv, very exciting and it wasn't Thomas or Super Y!  They prescribed me anti-nausea meds and I am currently taking EVERYTHING I can to not get sick:).  I decided to take the rest of the week off since I was only teaching 1-2 days a week anyways.  So I layed in bed for 6 days, which is not good for my personality.  No cleaning, cooking, errands, shopping, and I barely had enough energy to hug and play with my boy.  I was able to work the following week 3 of the 4 days.  Since then, I've made it work every day.  Of course it helps knowing I only have 5 more sick days this year and Jared's busy season is around the corner which means I'm on duty, but that's life.  There's more important things than taking a few unpaid days!

All my co-workers are predicting a girl because they all say their girls were harder pregnancies.  With Hudson, I was pregnant all school year, September-April, and I didn't miss a day of work all year!  It's just crazy how different the two have been.  The next big decision is whether or not we'll find out the gender.  We waited with Huddy and Jared wants to wait again, which I think is fun.  I would just like to know if my co-workers are right but if it is a girl, it will be cheaper to wait b/c I will go CRAZY buying girlie stuff:).  I honestly don't care, but another boy sounds the most appealing.  I love saying "see you soon boys" or "I love my boys!"  I just love Hudson and his tender heart.  There is something about a mother-son relationship:).  At this point in time, we're waiting which is always a fun surprise.

Since March hit, I've been feeling better.  I even ran a few errands!  Since I wasn't going anywhere, and I had to energy to shop online, we were saving loves of $.  Jared was quite impressed!  Two kindergarten classes a day takes all my energy so Jared has graciously grocery shopped and cooked meals for our family for the last 3 months.  I love my husband!  He even packs my lunches every day this whole year:).  Without him, I just physically couldn't do it.  I seriously don't know how single moms manage!  They are truly amazing.  When I come home from work I just need to sit and put my feet up.  I've explained Kindergarten as taking a deep breath before they come in and then I don't exhale until they leave.  It's a run, run around job:).

As the conference boom comes up, I have 3 long days full of conferences.  Hoping I have the energy to get ready, make it to work, and finish these 3 full days!  I'm thankful for God's provisions and a healthy mamma, baby, and family.

Grandparents Day

My school celebrated its first Grandparent's Day in January.
As you can see my Grandparents came but I didn't invite them:).  Gigi had been in and out of the hospital passing kidney stones and I didn't want to push her physically but ironically my boss called Holman Gardens and invited the place over.  My grandparents jumped at the chance!

Here's my boss Sue thanking everyone for coming and boy did a lot come!
Our gym was packed full!

Sue took a picture of Grams and I.
Then the grandparents came back to my room for some "academic" fun.
We did our calendar routine and then I read Snowmen at Night and the grandparents helped draw a winter scene for their snowmen.  They had a lot of fun doing it together!

This last picture just cracked me up because my student is wearing his "grand friends" glasses.
So funny!
It was a wonderfully successful grandparents day and I hope it becomes an annual event at our school!

Thanks Gigi & Gpa for coming to my Grandparents Day!

Mobius

On one of Hudson's field trips a few weeks ago they went to Mobius.  Hudson just loves Mobius!
He told me all about the sharp teeth of the dinosaur, how he was in the kitchen with some bread, and he rode his favorite car.  He loves his adventures with his friends!

"Cheese" face!

This picture melts this mamma's heart!
