Wow, so it's only been a few weeks since I've blogged about anything, but 2 kids is super busy!
Well here Jared and I are before the birth of our daughter. We were so excited to meet our little one! My mom came to the house to take care of our Hud Bud so she snapped a pic of us and our last picture as a family of three.
I love Hudson's smiles:).
I will admit I was SUPER nervous as it came close to the delivery of our Hannah. I was nervous how Hudson would react. Would he feel left out? Would he resent Hannah? How do I make him still feel as special as he was before? I was also worried about delivery. I had originally expressed interest in a VBAC instead of another cesarian. But as we got closer to my due date, Jared and I felt more comfortable with a repeat c-section. Since I was feeling so sick the entire pregnancy, I asked my doctor if we could move up my c-section. Now just to explain some Katieisms, I first scheduled my cesarian for September 11th. Jared didn't like that date, I don't know why?:). Then I moved it up to September 7th. And towards the end I moved it up to the 4th. My acid had gotten so bad the last 10 weeks but REALLY bad the last few I couldn't bare it anymore. So now I hopefully was having a cesarian but I continued to get more and more nervous as the day came near. The day before, I was so nervous but I tried to hide it all day telling myself "Lots of people have repeat c-sections, it's common!" I was really worried but kept praying. The next day we went in and I was fine but Jared was a bit more nervous as we got ready. Then it was magic time. Here are a few pics from the delivery room:).
The first thing I thought right was "Alleluia! It is a girl." For some reason I just didn't think I'd ever get my own baby girl so I was in denial it was a girl, even though I felt so different!
That's right, our baby girl weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and she was 22 inches long with a 13.75 inch head circumference, much smaller than her brother. Jared was able to cut the cord, so cool. I loved this c-section so much more because Hannah was with me the whole time. I got to watch all of this instead of them doing it in the nursery. Sacred Heart closed their nursery so the baby is with you 24/7, which I loved! As they were sewing me up, Jared was able to sit right by me with Hannah, I cherished that time!
Then I met Jared and Hannah in the post operation room where they did foot prints. I got to witness it all and hold her. It was so great!
Then after an hour of so, I was able to go to my room. We had a corner suite:). I guess they save the bigger rooms for c-sections because we're there longer and have more visitors…so true!
Grandma Ev and Grandpa Hank came in for a quick visit to meet Hannah.
This was Hudson's first reaction:
I'm so thankful for my mom! She was willing to watch our boy early that morning and through his nap so that Jared could be with me. Hudson ended up spending the next two nights with them and he didn't miss us one bit! The first question he'd ask every morning is "How is Hannah?" Then he'd want to kiss and hug her:). I know it had to be hard on my mom to not be there after I got out of surgery but she was so great with my boy!
Some Nana love
Kisses!
First bath
Then Gigi & Gpa came for a visit
Mommy missed her boy and couldn't wait to read him a book!
The proud great grandparents
We gave Hudson these dinosaurs in a cave to take care of as mommy takes care of Hannah.
Then our newest friend's baby, Seth Jameson, came for a visit as well!
Finally, it was time to get ready to go home after two nights.
She loved her carseat, not!
Home at last!
*This post was created because Grandma Ev is staying with us and now I have a free moment:). Thank you Grandma!

Love all the pictures! So glad your c-section went so well! I think mine was more like Hudson's in that I didn't get to see any of the firsts. They took her away and I missed it all. I'm glad you were able to have her right there with you! Love the carseat picture!
