I can't believe my first born is almost done with kindergarten!!! Where has the time gone?!?!
One of his last homework projects was to do an animal report. I thought for sure he would choose a Jaguar but he choose a porcupine. We went and picked out his poster board. He chose neon orange.
We had it all done and Pops offered to pick up some porcupine quills from a near by reservation. Here Pops is helping Hudson put them on his poster.
The finished product
He's had so much fun in kindergarten this year. He has grown in so many ways. Academically, emotionally and physically.
To be promoted for your next belt, you have to have your teacher fill out a belt promotion approval form. This is what Mrs. Termath said about him:
So sweet!
She said he does have a tendency to chat and that's why he is at centers alone:). He's so my kid! But she says when she redirects him he is respectful and stops chatting. Few. He's better than I was in kindergarten!
Then it was time for his Kindergarten Celebration!
Here's his invitation!

Hudson was a very good singer during the program. His facial expressions cracked us up!

He was very proud of his poster!
We celebrated afterward at Dairy Queen. While we ate ice cream, we looked through his adorable memory book! Another one of his classmates were there. It was an ice cream night!
I was also able to go on his last field trip to the West Valley Outdoor Learning Center. This fit right along with their science standards on animals.
They had a lot of animals to look at, alive and stuffed!
Then we had to talk about what an animals needs were. They kids then did a scavenger hunt to find the clues. Sorting their clues by the animals four needs: water, shelter, food and space.
Last we learned a lot about owls. There was a real barn owl in the room! It was funny to see how it reacted to loud kindergarteners:). She had a nice PP on owls and other birds.
It was a wonderful year in kindergarten. I can't believe he's a 1st grader now! I'm so glad I was able to be involved in his first year of school! We were lucky with the teacher who really pushed Hudson to be his best. What a fun year! I can't see what's in store for next year!

These kiddos are growing up way too fast! I can't believe my middle is going into Kindergarten! And Kariya is starting THIRD grade! Wow.
