A Priest Lake Summer

This summer has been by far my favorite!  I have enjoyed every morning with my boy from waking to breakfast to our "activity" each day (because its hard for me to stay at home for a whole day!).  After working full time, I really have cherished these lazy, relaxed mornings.  I'm really thankful that I'm not due until September.  Originally I wanted another spring baby because its good timing for school but God always has a better plan.  With a fall baby, I got the whole some to bond and play with my boy.  I truly have never felt so blessed!
On top of that, a lot of our summer was spent at Priest!  Talk about relaxing and the best part was watching Hudson develop.  I sure love 3!  As a friend said, they turn into real kids and Hudson truly did!

Here we are at Priest with Oasis Island, Pop's new "toy" for the lake.  Boy did we LOVE it!  Hudson was hesitant to get near it, let alone in it.  So he played around it:).

Or stuck his feet in the sand with a snack

or chose to swing

Eventually he did get in it!  This may not seem like a big deal to most, but for my shy, careful, overly cautious boy, it was!

Yes those would be paddles my parents are using to cruise the lake:).

Then it was time for sand

Or water guns

We were honored to have my in-laws come up.  Jared's other brother Daryl (as I like to call him) father-in-law has a house boat on Priest so they try to come up once in the summer.  We invited over Grandma & Grandpa for some smores, mmm!

The next day it was hot and my decided to clean off, naked:).

We then went for a hike to Granite Falls.  We stopped to look for birds and some rock jumping.

Now at 8+ months pregnant, almost 9, this might not look steep but it sure was for me.  This little hike kicked wore me out.  I actually had to sit down.  Hudson did so well and walked a little over 2 miles, happy as a lark!

Picking some purple gold, huckleberries!

Family pic!

Then it was back to the beach to play.  Hudson really has gotten into throwing frisbees.  He liked it so much it even got him in the water, the deeper water!

He started to get so deep I actually had to put a life jacket on him.  I seriously never thought this day would come.  He seems very scared in the water but not any more!

This is the gang picking up Grandpa & Grandma from Tiff's dad's house boat.

The next morning we were off to my favorite breakfast, the Cavanaugh Brunch!  MMM!

It was a busy day and we saw lots of airplanes.  It was a perfect day to take Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Daryl, Aunt Tiff, and Raylee.

Look what I got to hold?!   I had to snag her from my mom but I just wanted to keep her!  Raylee is such an easy, smiley, happy baby.  I just love her!

Uncle Daryl and the cousins:).

Yes a typical Hudson face in the one above.  As they all left, Jared, Hudson and Pops watched the planes fly away.  It was a wonderful breakfast with friends and family!

Then after nap, we were back in the water with frisbees and life jackets!

Hudson even started to like the boat.  Usually, I hate to admit this, but we bribe him with a meal or breakfast to get him on the boat.  Now he loves it and stands outside the bow, not afraid!  Big deal!

This summer has been a huge summer of firsts for our boy.
-playing in the water
-going up to his chest deep in water
-sitting in Oasis Island
-sitting on the Jet Ski
-riding in the boat, for fun!
-swimming, with Pops, out to the dock
-jumping off the dock
-watching his confidence boost!

Thank you for a great summer at Priest Nana and Pops!  We sure have LOVED every minute!
